BOERUM HILL, BROOKLYN KITCHEN
This Boerum Hill, Brooklyn rooftop terrace features a custom-built outdoor kitchen and bar made with ipe (pronounced e-pay) wood and stacked stone facades, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. The kitchen includes a sink, refrigerator, storage cabinets, a gas grill, and a Big Green Egg charcoal grill. A canvas sail provides shade overhead, and custom cedar lattices were placed over an unattractive cinderblock and brick wall for wisteria vines to grow up them. The shade sails are made out of a similar material as the sails on boats, so they are able to tolerate wind, rain, and even snow equally well.
