Brooklyn Colorful Fall Sidewalk Planter

Image of a japanese maple tree with lush and colorful plantings underneath.

Mum’s the word when it comes to fall gardens around NYC!  Even the smallest sidewalk planter, such as this one in Brooklyn, can be a delight to stumble upon.  Purple and yellow make a rich flowering color scheme, especially when mums are at the peak of their blooms.  Here, we’ve also used purple ornamental kale for the front of the planter.  This red, weeping Japanese maple has a beautiful form and graceful habit any time of year.  Additional plantings include evergreen boxwoods, a yellow cypress, and a summer-flowering hydrangea.  If you’d like to have your garden decked out with fall flowers this season, please contact us!
